Alhaji Ali Olanusi |
The All Progressives Congress has appointed the impeached Ondo State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, as a member of its Board of Trustees.
The National Secretary of the APC, Mai Buni, said this in a statement on Monday.
The statement added that Olanusi would remain a member of the BoT till 2018.
Although Olanusi formally joined the
party on March 26, 2015 (two days before the presidential election), the
APC stated that Olanusi had contributed greatly to the making of the
party.
The statement read, “I am pleased to
convey the ratification by the National Executive Committee of your
appointment as a member of the Board of Trustees of our great party.
Your selection is in pursuant to Article 12.2 (xi) of the constitution
but most especially your laudable contribution in the making of our
great party.
“Your appointment is for a period of four
years effective July 2014. The board’s role as defined by the
constitution is to effectively represent and promote the overall
interest of our great party with a view to adding a long-term value to
the image of the party.
“It is expected, therefore, that you
will, along with your colleagues on the board, make decisions
objectively in the party. Other issues of the board and its mode of
operation are spelt out in the constitution.”
